Patricia Yarberry-Allen, M.D., is Founder of the New York  Menopause Center and the New York Menopause Research Foundation. 

She is an assistant attending obstetrician and gynecologist at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Jan and Sanford Weill Medical College of Cornell University.

She has also maintained a private practice in New York City since 1982.

Dr. Allen is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and a member of the American Medical Association and the North American Menopause Society, along with numerous other medical and health-related associations and societies.

She applies her general philosophy of patient care – that of treating the whole person—to her particular focus on peri-menopausal and menopausal women.  Dr. Allen maintains that menopause should be looked upon as an opportunity to assess familial and individual health risks and begin a life-long program of health maintenance, preventative care, self-discovery, and fulfillment. 

Dr. Allen has lectured and written extensively on peri-menopausal and menopausal
health issues, She is the medical consultant on Silent Passages, a landmark book for women by Gail Sheehy, Co-Founder of the Menopause Center and Research Foundation.
